What is the Learnovate WRGP?

Graduates participate in a year-long work placement hosted by a partner company and supported by the Learnovate team. During the year the graduate will work in the company on a project focused on, or involving, a learning technology solution supporting the end user in either a corporate learning or a formal education environment.

Who can apply

  • Completed your course and graduated 2020-2024
  • Masters degree is desirable but a level 8 degree is acceptable in disciplines relevant to software development, learning sciences, education, learner experience/user experience design, learning technologies
  • Interest in/focus on Education, User and Learner Experience, Learning Technologies, Instructional Design
  • Eligible to work in Ireland (with any visa required to work in place at time of application)

Programme structure

  • 1 year work placement in an Irish company
  • Real world project/work experience
  • Business skills training, for example accredited Project Management & Scrum
  • One-to-one mentoring by a Learnovate senior researcher
  • Network building
  • Fellow graduate programme participant support and network development
  • Conference & events attendance
  • Laptop provided
  • Potential for hybrid or remote working­

What experience does the role offer?

  • Formal training will include skills training, networking and engagement opportunities.
  • Informal training facilitated by the experience of participation in the Learnovate multi-disciplinary team activities and exposure to the innovation methodologies in use.
  • Access to the latest knowledge and techniques within the current technical landscape in regards to the future of work and learning.
  • Thorough grounding and training in modern business and software design best practices
  • Hands-on experience to implement technical solutions that support the learner in work and across a variety of learning contexts.
